OUR UNIQUE PROGRAMMING

We are advocates for the professional value found in immersive experiences. We are unique in that we have a multi-dimensional learning model, giving youthe tools to accelerate skill development while you cultivate community, become environmental stewards, learn about sustainable living and add to your portfolio of life adventures.

At its core, our internship program is just that- an internship. The difference is that instead of working in an office, you'll have the rare opportunity to live and work with exceptional small business owners, building your competitive edge as you tackle a real-world project for a sustainable farm operation.

At OutGrowth, we merge the worlds of service learning and professional development, so that you can start to explore ways to translate your passions and purpose into a career. We give you the opportunity to work in businesses that are leading with purpose, so that you can transform your major and knowledge into making a difference.

FARMS

Ranging from vegetable farmers to oyster farmers, each of our farm partners across Maryland is dedicated to social, economic and environmental sustainability. With us, you will have a chance to take part in daily farm tasks so that you can fully understand the business in which you're working.

PROJECTS

We craft projects to align with farmer needs and student majors. From marketing to business, each detailed project is customized to include tangible deliverables, mentorship and a database of resources. We work with you and your university to secure credit approval.

OUR
VALUE

Our residential internships are $1900/month. This price includes: all room, board and meals, program placement and matching fees, extra curriculars such as biking and kayaking, dual mentorship, and all program events, materials and resources.

YOUR PATH STARTS HERE

Apply 
Complete an application to be eligible for one of our summer residential project placements. Our next application cycle will being in the fall 2019 term for summer 2020 placements. Need more information? Book us to speak to your class or student group, or schedule a free consultation.
Interview
OutGrowth conducts 1:1 interviews to ensure best-fit on both sides. If selected, we will place you with one of our farm partners for a designated project. After selections are made, all project & placement details will be sent to you in advance, giving you plenty of time to prepare for your summer experience! 
Prepare 
After you have submitted your commitment paperwork and payments, you will attend the OutGrowth Orientation in Baltimore, where you will meet your fellow cohort members, review project and placement details, participate in a one-day immersive farm adventure and gear up for an incredible summer.
Take Off
Travel independently or with your cohort to your host site, in time for your session's on-site orientation. Both your project sponsor and mentor will be available to you daily during your experience. Have a blast as you create meaningful impact in your four-week session. Close out the summer with the OutGrowth Student Showcase Event, where you will have the chance to present your work to our community of business leaders!
